Inspire

Inspire - a tale of two cities

In conjunction with Canterbury City Council and Medway Council, the Inspire Campaign has ran each year since 2007. Inspire seeks to capitalise on the outstanding cultural product that exists in Kent’s two cathedral cities - Canterbury and Rochester.

The main aim of the campaign is to generate short breaks in Canterbury and Rochester by promoting the cities as inspirational destinations with heritage.  It also highlights the cities’ great literary connections; Chaucer, Fleming and Dickens as well as the fact that they are home to Britain’s two oldest cathedrals.  The secondary aim of the campaign is to attract a newer and younger audience by focussing on the contemporary events that take place e.g. Medway’s Fuse Festival and The Canterbury Festival as well as the great local food and drink that is now available.

In addition, the campaign aimed to drive traffic to a dedicated campaign webpage www.visitkent.co.uk/inspire to increase awareness of the two cities.
