Kent eVent Team
Kent County Council and the voluntary sector in Kent have formed a partnership to produce the Kent eVent Team.
The aim is to recruit volunteers for events, as well as one-off activities (sports, leisure or cultural) across Kent, including the build up to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in London.
Volunteers
The Kent eVent team aims to recruit 250 volunteers by April 2009, and by 2011, it is hoped a total of 2500 volunteers will be registered with the team.
Volunteers join from all over the county, with a wide range of skills and abilities. Each of them are offered the opportunity of volunteering at a variety of Kent events. The scheme is entirely flexible and allows people to get involved without making regular commitments.
Volunteering with the Kent eVent team will provide excellent experience for anyone interesting in volunteering for the 2012 Games.
Benefits to Event Organisers
If you are organising a non profit event in Kent, either in the voluntary, community or statutory sector, you are able to register with the Kent eVent team and request volunteers. The event must meet the basic requirements e.g. health and safety.
The increased support from the volunteer workers should produce a more successful and effective event outcome.
2012
This volunteer project will put Kent in an brilliant position for 2012.
Kent will have many Olympic related activities and events occuring throughout the next few years in areas such as tourism, arts, culture and young people. Many of these will require the help of volunteers. The Kent eVent team is perfect for providing volunteers for such events.
