What is Welcome International?

Welcome International is one-day training programme designed to give people working in the tourism or hospitality industry greater confidence when meeting and greeting international visitors in another language. The training programme aims to:

  • Meet, greet and inform visitors in two languages from the following: Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian and Spanish
  • Be able to help with a range of requests
  • Promote your facilities and services
  • Enhance the positive image of your organisation
  • Make overseas visitors especially welcome

Course content

The Welcome International course has recently been developed to include additional languages and to encourage a greater understanding of cultural differences. It covers the following areas:

  • International body language 
  • Discussion topics on culture 
  • Stereotypes 
  • National information sheets

Taking part

Each successful participant will receive a certificate and badge as well as the course workbook, a double CD containing useful phrases, an aide memoir for quick reference and a comprehensive phonetics sheet.
