Visit Kent Spring Networking Event

Published on 16th March 2018

Gravesend Town Hall and the newly renovated Gravesend Borough Market played the perfect backdrop for the Visit Kent Spring Networking event on 6th March.

Visit Kent Chief Executive, Sandra Matthews-Marsh MBE, launched Go Trade, an exciting new cross channel initiative which aims to revitalise and grow our local markets. The project is part of  the Interreg France Channel England Programme, supported by the European Regional Development Fund and Visit Kent will be working with project partners Gravesham Borough Council as well as a wider network of markets across the county.

Karen Eslea gave us a flavour of what we can look forward to when Turner Contemporary hosts the prestigious Turner Prize 2019. While Sleeping Giant, CEO, Luke Quilter asked the question “Are you really doing digital?” and urged businesses to embrace the ever-changing digital landscape.

Our Research & Development Project Coordinator, Ruby Berkeley-Cornner gave an overview of the Business Barometer. Keep an eye out for the 2017 Annual Business Barometer report due to be released soon.

We also heard from our inspiring VisitEngland Tourism Superstar nominee, Sam Watling from Revolution Skate Park in Broadstairs. Don’t forget to vote before 20th March.
